NEW PHILADELPHIA, Ohio — The Gradall Company has introduced a new model XL 3300 hydraulic excavator featuring exceptional power and strength as well as a wheeled undercarriage providing productive mobility both on and off hard surfaces. The new model has an optional CE package meeting CE machinery directive requirements and STVZO German road regulations. The model XL 3300 has the full range of traditional Gradall excavator advantages including the low-profile telescoping, full tilting boom for excellent versatility.
The model XL 3300 is armed with Gradall's XL Series high-pressure, load-sensing hydraulics. It's a uniquely engineered system that delivers power and cycle times needed to execute demolition, pavement removal and mass excavation work more effectively. Without the need for operators to select an appropriate working mode, the XL 3300's sophisticated hydraulic system also adjusts for lighter-duty work like grading and sloping, creating an automatic fuel conservation advantage.
Gradall's job-proven excavator boom provides superior versatility, achieving more work with a range of available attachments. Able to work in low-overhead environments such as under bridges, tree limbs or in tunnels, the telescoping boom has a 220° tilting action for efficient work in hard-to-reach places like on hillsides and on the sides and ceilings of tunnels. Consistent boom power is achieved with the telescoping action, unlike conventional knuckle booms which cannot maintain constant power throughout the full digging cycle.
As with other Gradall excavators, the XL 3300 operator can see all of the telescoping boom movements during the entire digging cycle. The newly designed operator cab provides improved jobsite visibility.
A tilting/telescoping steering column is engineered for more comfortable steering, while foot pedals determine travel speed and braking functions. Independent toggle switches control important features including two outriggers which are designed for increased stability, and axle oscillation. Operators also will appreciate comfort features such as an overhead skylight, removable front window, joysticks positioned in convenient pods, optional air conditioning and other options. The model XL 3300 features the new Gradall excavator color scheme ‚ gray with red accents and decals. This color scheme is standard on the XL 3000 Series machines including the highway-speed model XL 3100 and the model XL 3200 with a crawler undercarriage.
A 148-horsepower turbocharged Deere engine powers both the upperstructure and the four-wheel-drive undercarriage. Both axles are equipped with internal wet-disc type service and parking brakes. Maximum digging depth for the XL 3300 is 19-feet, 4- inches, while boom radius at groundline is 28-feet, 1 -inches. The rated boom force is 21,940 lbs. Combined with the 220ƒ boom tilt, the model XL 3300 can achieve more productivity with optional attachments including excavating buckets, pavement removal bucket, single-tooth ripper, ditching bucket, grading blade, fixed thumb grapple, a 4-foot boom extension and more.
